About us

Who we are

Mystep is a Queensland community program — Migrants, Youth, Students: Training & Employability Program — helping migrants, youth and international students build employability and connect with local employers.

Vision

We want the people in our target groups to learn, work and stay confidently in Queensland, and help Queensland employers retain a talented and diverse workforce.
— Mystep committee

Purposes

What we set out to do

  • Help our target groups see their options more clearly and become more employable
  • Share career insights that lead to better job prospects
  • Connect people with local employers, industry professionals and other community resources
  • Help people build the skills future jobs need, and adapt more easily to change
  • Help our target groups get job-ready and open more doors to opportunity

Good People. Good Jobs

This program runs on partnership — together, we organise hands-on activities that close the gap between what employers expect and what migrants, students and CALD communities need to build real employability.

Challenges

Migrants, young people and students all deal with real barriers to resources, jobs and business opportunities. Those barriers show up at every stage, and they make it harder to build a career or start a business.

There's often a gap between what jobseekers already know, what schools teach, and what employers are actually looking for. With the right support, people can close that gap, build real skills, feel ready for work, and make smarter career decisions here in Queensland.
